The practice started in 1993 by Clive Lankester having previously worked for smaller accountancy practices. These ranged in size from a sole practitioner to mid-sized. The decision to start his own accountancy practice came from working as a senior manager in a mid-size firm and feeling that the clients were treated mainly as a source of income, rather than individuals with their own needs and business requirements.

The practice has been based in its current office in Puckeridge since 2002. Over the years the practice has developed from providing a pure compliance service to providing a range of services to suit the needs of the clients. Some of these services include:
